The Division of Allergy & Immunology at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) is one of the nation’s most comprehensive programs dedicated to treating children and adults suffering from a broad range of allergic and immunologic conditions, such as food and drug allergies; skin allergies; rashes; hives, autoimmune disorders as well as HIV.

We have a longstanding tradition of treating both children and adults suffering from a broad spectrum of allergic and immunologic conditions. As one of the nation’s largest immunology centers, we have the rare privilege to treat immunodeficiencies and autoimmune diseases.

RESEARCH

The Division of Allergy and Immunology at CHAM seeks to understand the mechanisms and therapies for congenital and acquired immunodeficiencies including AIDS, as well as associated autoimmune disorders and infectious diseases. Among the disorders and diseases our researchers are studying are congenital immunodeficiences in both pediatric and adult patients, HIV, hereditary and acquired angioedema, long-term immune complications of infections such as Mycoplasma and Lyme disease.

Division Chief, Dr. Arye Rubinstein designs and participates in clinical trials including enzyme replacement therapies for genetic immune deficiencies, monoclonal antibody therapies, intravenous gamma globulin, and other immunomodulatory therapeutics. His research also encompasses allergic disorders, asthma, food and drug allergies.
