Our Expertise

Rheumatology_OurExpertise_316x210.jpg

Complicated rheumatologic disease requires careful evaluation and thoughtful, customized treatment. Our team of experts in the Division of Rheumatology at Children's Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) understand the complexity of these rheumatologic diseases.

Our specialists are among the best in the country, leading in groundbreaking research to create new therapies that have revolutionized children’s rheumatologic treatment. As experts in childhood medicine and rheumatology—the study of joints and autoimmune disease—our goal is to meet the complex needs of our patients and their families. We work with a child psychologist, psychiatrist and a social worker to integrate services and counseling for our patients and their families. Treatment and therapies for children can be demanding, so we offer a variety of support services, including:

• Family counseling
• Social services
• Support groups
• The Susan Pincus Family Learning Place, a multimedia pediatric health information and resource center

We welcome input from our patients and their families, giving all a say in their care. This collaborative approach to manage the condition helps create the right treatment program for each of our patients.
