Hematologic Malignancy Program

The Pediatric Hematologic Malignancy Team at CHAM provides comprehensive care for children and young adults with cancers arising from the bone marrow or lymph nodes, including acute lymphoblastic leukemia, acute myelogenous leukemia, chronic myelogenous leukemia, Hodgkin lymphoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, or myelodysplastic syndrome. We are also committed to providing multidisciplinary support for the families of our patients undergoing treatment for these conditions at CHAM.

Our team takes a multidisciplinary approach to improving the lives of children and young adults with blood cancers or lymphoma. Through a combination of basic science research and clinical trials, the Team aims to improve cure rates while decreasing the acute and chronic side effects of therapy.

Each new patient is presented to CHAM's multidisciplinary tumor board, which includes representatives from pediatric oncology, radiology, nuclear medicine, hematopathology, pediatric surgery, and radiation oncology. This process is followed by a group meeting with the patient and family members, where we present treatment options in the context of a coordinated care approach.
