The Children's Hospital at Montefiore's Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine is home to the largest group of pediatric hospitalists in the New York tri-state area. Together with close to a dozen physician assistants, CHAM hospitalists provide culturally competent, family-centered medical care to more than 4,000 children each year.
The Division also plays a major role in education for medical students and pediatric residents. Our Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship program is designed to produce excellent clinicians in the care of hospitalized children with both acute and complex chronic illnesses, as well as outstanding leaders in the field.
During the two-year program our fellows:
- Rotate at the Children's Hospital at Montefiore, the pediatric hospital for Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore's Wakefield Campus (a community hospital setting) on both resident and attending-only services as well as several relevant elective rotations.
- Participate in the departmental science course for pediatric subspecialty fellows.
- Receive training in research, quality improvement, safety, hospital administration, education and leadership.
- Have the option of obtaining a master of science degree in clinical research methods through Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
